@Regless Yeah I understand. I love twists in movies, but this one did more to piss me off than to surprise me. Usually twists don't undermine the entire plot that preceded them and give you a new perspective of the plot. I thought both Ringu and The Ring were pretty good films until the climax and resolution kicked in. I preferred Ju-On and The Grudge.

@turquoiseguy Your right. there was no reason to uncover the girls story. The mother did that in an attempt to find a clue of how to save herself and her son. and Then began to believe if she gave the girl peace she would be alright. She completely misread the situation because all throughout the movie they kept dropping hints that that wouldn't do anything. I LOVED that little twist. and as for destroying the tape, seems to me no one made the first one. It'd just show up elsewhere

@NillyFmusic You're theory also fails because they all watched the same tape. Therefor if he were to die because of that, the son would have lifted the " curse" because he watched it after Noah. So that does not work.

@NillyFmusic Incorrect. The reason Noah died is because he did not make a copy of the movie by the 8th day. She lived because she did. The son WILL live because she also made him make a copy of the tape.

TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO DONT UNDERSTAND THE ENDING:
The reason why Noah died and not the girl is not because she freed her like they both assumed. She lived because she showed the tape to another person, who was Noah. So she passed the curse to him therefor he got killed. Now at the ending her son was still going to die because he hasn't shown the tape to anyone. She let him show it to her so she can get cursed, and then she is just going to show it to someone else so then she is free again..

Im never wtching dis again cus after i watched it i ate a piece of choclate and started choking and my mum said her tv stopped working :(
