  • We always do that though. We project our bias in interpreting an ancient culture's beliefs. There is a lot of Ancient Greek religion we don't know about since all we have is the Theogony and the Orphic stories; but we know Egyptian religion much better than the Ancient Greeks since they recorded their religion on the wall. But we fail when we project our bias on the facsimiles.
