I'm from this generation, but I know for a fact nowadays hiphop is wack (aside from underground, and guys like Nas n Common) and everyday im going further back or deeper and finding better music - i listened to evidence's new album and then i went further back, and found this, stuff from premo like AZ, Guru and this new artist called Dynasty - hiphop is so beautiful, so deep and lyrically mesmerising - wish my generation bumped more of this shit, it'd make me proud to be part of this it.

"We went into D&D Studios and DJ Premier was in the other room with Freddie Foxxx and they heard it and ran into the room. Premier said, “If this isn’t your single, I’m gonna punch y’all in the face in public.” I didn’t want to scrap with Premier, so we made it our single."
Great book, they spoke to everyone for it, Jurassic 5, Tribe, Pharcyde -- great to see a book giving props to the real hip-hop artists.
