The shivering reflex exercises many muscles, resulting in heat production by burning more fuel. If the temperature at your core drops even a few degrees, you're in trouble.

@pilotmonkey not in a survival situation but in a bored out of my mind and not wanting to spend money situation, ive made some swing traps (trip line, triggers stick with rock tied to end swings down and knocks them on head, i made like 20 traps in an afternoon, only got 2 possums overnight though
