Israeli weapons against aid flotilla Marmara

We decided to do some research on the matter of Israeli weapons on board the flagship Mavi Marmara as there were contrasting reports between Israel officials and passengers and crew of the aid flotilla.

We unearthed a BBC TV Newsnight Report of June 1 2010, one day after the raid, about an Israeli commando being seen brandishing a potent Uzi sub-machine gun at the stern of the Marmara.

Our weapons expert took a look a the CCTV video presented by Newsnight and compared it with different models of Uzi sub machine guns. The evidence is that it is highly probable that Israeli commandos were armed with powerful machine guns and not just pistols on board the flagship, as assured by Israeli officials including Ehud Barak. Benjamin Netanyahu and Mark Regev at the time.

A few days later, on June 9 a YouTube website appeared with images showing two Israeli commandos kicking somebody on the floor. We enhanced and slow motioned the available images to compare both machine guns. It doing so it became clear that the commandos are shooting at somebody on the floor 'execution style'. There is similar video broadcast on May 31 2010 by Russia Today (see favorites).

It is a fact that the Israeli commando shown on the YouTube video has a weapon as it can be clearly seen being used. The weapon appears to be a machine gun of the Uzi type with silencer and extender which makes it a length of about 90cm (50inches).

Both commandos are seen kicking somebody on the floor and seconds later one of them seems to pump bullets into that person.. According to witness reports, this person was 19 year old Turkish-American Furkan Dogan.

A few days later, after the bodies of the dead were returned to Turkey, autopsy reports showed that Furkan had 4 bullets in his head. He was unarmed at the moment of the shooting. No weaons were found belonging to the flotilla passengers and crew in any of the ships.

Our researchers at Newsreel Democracy received a Twitter message on June 10 from the organisation Free Gaza Movement with the YouTube address where the full YouTube footage showing the Israeli commandos using an Uzi could be seen. People can now draw their own conclusions about what happened on board the Mavi Marmara. We think that both videos (the Marmara CCTV showed by Newsnight and the YouTube footage) will be essential in any international investigation into the incidents surrounding the aid flotilla raid.

This renders veracity to the footage. The Russia Today footage can also be seen on the Favorites section. It was first posted on Mon June 31, 2010 a few hours after the incident.

Similar footage of both events depicted in this video can be seen on Russia Today You Tube posting on May 31 2010 just a few hours from the raid at 4am local time. The posting is on our Favorites section and has attracted 160,000. Although the analysis is new, the footage has been available from the first day.

yeah. the gun at the end is definitively a paintball gun. You can see the shiny paintball "tank" - never seen a real gun that looks like this.
