Lamont is a very nice looking boy. I was wondering where you got him? What breeder? Reason I ask is cause I am looking into getting a DDB pup this year. Have you had him tested yet for any heart disease? I pray that all is good and healthy for him. What kind of temperament does he have, protective of family? I appreciate any insight you can give.

@arterius01 Thanks. I got him from a breeding in Madera, Ca. He is pretty healthy although because of his growth rate, he suffered from panosteitis around the 4-5 month mark. Whatever you do (and a good breeder will tell you this also), only feed large breed ADULT food even as a puppy. This is my first dog that is not a Rottie and he seems protective but still a little young to tell. He is great with cats, dogs and people but needs to be watched with other big aggressive dogs.

@boozeroyale Thanks for the info. Do you by chance have the contact info for the breeder? Or a website? I appreciate the heads up on the food. I used to breed Olde Bulldogges so I'm aware of the slow grow factor. All my pups were fed adult foods. I'm happy to hear that your Dogue is healthy though. Mastiffs take longer to mature than other breeds of dogs, I'm sure you will see more of that protective nature come about right around 3 years old.

@del09100 Sounds similar to Lamont. I have a video on youtube of him on the scale a few days before he turned 9 months also.
