Les Paul to the MT-2 into a Marshall JCM800 (even though the video says it's a Crate amp. It's not.)Gets rid of the nasally, digital sounding distortion. Gives it a more natural distortion sound. The EQ is very extreme now. Sorry the last half is pretty boring. I was just strumming a chord to show all the different sounds.

  • Hi, how is the double mod different from the death metal and lead mods on your website? Is this Bill?

  • Hi,

The DD mod was made to give a cleaner, less nasally distortion and the switch gives it a big boost in volume. The Lead mod was made to get more of a tube distortion type sound, and the Death Metal mod gives the pedal more clarity and, for lack of a better term, balls and really cuts through in a band situation. The Death Metal mod is my fav of the three even though I don't play death metal. It really turns it into a great pedal for a lot of different types of music.

    Yes, it's me, Bill.

  • Hey Bill, it's me Angelo. I just came across your youtube videos and was comparing your Metal Zone mods. I saw the Death Metal demo, really has more bass response and the mids cut through very well as compared to the thin sounding stock MZ.

  • Hi Angelo. How are you doing? Yeah, the Death Metal mod pretty much changes it to a different pedal. It's nothing really like the stock one. Even though the mod is called Death Metal, it really gets some great low gain tones also. When I came up with this mod, I had a customer who really wanted the pedal to stand out in his band, be really heavy, and have better tone control. The Death Metal MT-2 is the only MT-2 I really like to use anymore. The other mods are good but I like the DM mod best.

  • Awesome. I just bought a 2203 and I'm trying to decide on a distortion pedal. This is sounding awesome.

  • Yeah, the modded MT-2 really cuts through the band mix now and sounds a LOT more natural. It's great with the 2203 plus there are a lot more tones/sounds you can get out of it now.

  • omg somebody likes crazy train lol

  • It's a 2203.

  • what model jcm 800 is this?

  • Thanks. Yes, it would be good for Metallica type bands. It's actually good for almost everything. It gets really heavy with the switch one way and with the other way you can get a nice crunchy overdrive-type sound.
