  • he he funny that he stops to eat grass! He doesn't look to bad although I just about see the dip of his head in trot. I'm a bit tired of reading the comments posted by people on all these lameness videos saying 'that's cruel to lunge him while lame' - but the vet would lunge and work them to see the lameness anyway! Hope he's better

  • Thanks :]

Yeah,I only lunged him to take a video, plus its a good way to assess lameness.

  • why do you lounge him when he's lame? call a vet...

  • I have called a vet,the vet came the day before.

And for your information the vet doesn't know what is causing the lameness,so he is on Bute to see if that helps.

I lunged him to get a video of his lameness to show my mate.

I lunged him for like two minutes.

  • aww cute he just stops and starts to eat LOL

but i couldnt see any lameness hehe

  • lol,hahaha yeah,hes a bit of a fatty,lol.

Yeah he is lame on the front right hoof, its gotten better though.

  • CAN SUMONE HLP ME IDENTIFY HOW TO TELL IF A HORSE IS LIMPING B/C I SAW NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS HORSE

  • We moved him with us about a year ago and ever since he's been prancing around the pastures and actually started talking again (after he got hurt that time he stopped making any noise) and races the mountain ponies that are around here- he's acting like a young guy again

  • I wouldn't show him anyway if that happened to the poor guy :( That would be quiet a bit of stress for him. But hopefully he's really happy atm.

  • Actually, he started limping after an accident (of course) that broke a tendon and it took a long time to repair it to the point its at now.

He's been considered "lame" ever since (said the people in the show world that won't allow him to compete anymore)...

  • full speed? have you guys thought that maybe he isnt lame? that maybe his legs arent the same length?

  • Nope. The vet saw him hobbling down the isle at full speed chasing me around and said "thats the fastest horse I have ever seen with a limp" and also said that besides his limp being from an old injury, there's nothing wrong with him. There's no sign of him being in pain and his limp is just the way he walks, and has been for at least half a dozen years.

  • theflyingflea:

if your horse is lame he is in PAIN!!! obviously you should want to assess his lameness and call a vet

  • vivelakeri: you have to lunge him so you can see how lame he is!the vet needs to see too.

  • yes i know what the vet does - my own horse has been having lameness problems all winter -that's what i said :o)
