Pilio Greece fires 2007 impressive Canadair formation

Was just filming some beach scenery in Pilio when I saw a Canadair firefighting aircraft coming down for water.
I went up the mountain to investigate and witnessed the impressive sight of SIX Canadair flying in formation to put out a forest fire. These guys are pretty brave.
They put out the fire that day but unfortunately you can see that a lot of the mountain was already burnt from previous fires that summer. 2007 has been one of the worse on record for fires in Greece.

Its a natural cycle, thats true. But we got to prevent humans lost of lives, and fortunes. Also we got to prevent arsons.

Greece we have the same problem in turkey, we call them forest mafias. apparently you also have the same bylaws as us that once it is burnt down they can be develop. i dont think they realized how explosive a couple of fires would be. hope you guys recover soon

god bless you and dead people,i hope those fires stops now,we albanians too had our dead people fighting fires there in your country,as KATHIMERINI sad:they fight for something who wasnt theirs,but the gift their live saving greece
