@trashywilma No. It is because they excel in rhythmic gymnastics more than artistic. Russia has produced many of the worlds best rhythmic gymnasts and so they put more effort into something they know they will get results from.

some people don't understand people say they spend there whole life for those 2 or 3 minutes but it is more than that it is not just 2 or 3 minutes it is knowing u made it to something so hard living a dream so if u think that it is stupid to work that hard for that then get a life because living your dream is priceless and timeless and it will live on forever

of course not. russia is excellent in rhythmics and has won many world championships and even the olympic games. wouldnt it be only sensible to pump more effort in russia's strong area?

totally agrre with u

no, it's because you're so stupid
Pople get very into living there dream though some one else. But i think its a amazing sport and if russia didn't "pump" so much effort into it i don't think RG would be the way it is today

It's essentially because RG was created in the USSR, which gave it an advantage. Eventually those great gymnasts became coaches for their countries (Irina Deriugina) and don't move to other countries. Artistic coaches have moved (or have been bought by other countries), making the field more competitive.
