Another great game from chess genius Bobby Fischer and an instuctive example of how to gambit in order to generate a crushing attack

  • SeanGGodley, do you ever lose at this stage? LOL

  • I'm not sure what you mean!?

  • have you ever played kingcrusher, a.k.a tryfon graviel?

  • Nope, we play on different sites. It would be fun to have a battle of the annotators, we could get Manju involved as well - I'd definitely be up for it!

  • Bobby Fischer's vision at the chess board was just out of this world. I'm a pretty good player and when I go over Bobby's games, many times I feel blind!

  • Love to see when "material players" getting smashed. Great commentary as always.

  • SCANDINAVIAN DEFENSE = FAIL

  • @jwheyer22 I actually just checked the position out on my version of Fritz (Fritz 10) and it gives white as having a pawn and a half's advantage, so perhaps SeanG was mistaken?

  • @SuperMyfamily01 I was wondering that also....A computer would play much differently than a person and would not fall for obvious sacrifices... and such.

  • Another beautiful game followed by excellent commentary + development possibilities.

  • I find it amazing that Fritz assesses the position as equal at 5:45, since a couple of moves later, Addison is virtually lost! Is this a flaw in the way the computer assesses the position, or is the position salvagable with perfect play?

  • SeanG, I've seen a couple of your videos and have been very impressed with your style of presentation. You don't over-simplify or over-explain things, but you also take time to look into the main variations at critical junctures. I think others that make chess videos for YouTube could stand to learn a lot from you.

  • @gutsrace I really don't think it's appropriate in this instance to say Fischer played a "brilliant" game. I mean, yes he played well (offering the pawn in the opening and playing a couple of nice combinations), but I feel like a player much weaker than Fischer (perhaps even myself) could have found the very same moves that Fischer did. A weak opening and a materialistic approach from Addison meant that Fischer always had the initiative and was never under any pressure whatsoever.

  • @mukmin01 Okay. Thanks. I'll try and always remember that.

  • @guyNbluejeans lmao, but dont get confused, the winner is always fischer. thats all

  • To show you what a moron I am, I can't even figure out which player is playing which color in these videos.:-(
