A great baseboard cutting 'tool'

How to cut baseboard is something every DIY'er should know how to do. Cutting baseboard goes along with how to cut wood trim, door casing, window stools & aprons, shelving cleats, etc.. How large your job is may determine on which method you might use &/or which cutting tool to use/purchase when starting & completing your project. Is budget a concern, when cutting & installing baseboard, trim, etc.? Don't want to spend the money for an expensive tool but want to use one anyway, when cutting your baseboard?
