Rafe realizes he has no money so Buzz asks Rafe to work it off by helping him pick a winner for the Gus Aitoro Scholarship. Buzz and Rafe find Alan at the bottom of the stairs, unconscious, where a large piece of roof crashed onto the stairs above him. Rafe tries to look after Alan who insists hes fine. Alan goes to the church and begins a silent prayer. Alan says that something saved him today—and only Nat and Olivia can convince him hes not crazy. Alan thinks that he escaped the crashing room because someone tripped him—Gus.

Frank is surprised to hear Olivia calling Nat. Olivia sits on the floor with a bottle of pills open next to her. Nat finds Olivia with the pills and thinks Olivia tried to OD. Olivia protests saying shes sleepy, not suicidal. Olivia stops herself from popping another painkiller, then orders some books, looking at a picture of Gus.
