@delitemyheart no need for that type of tuning with these drums you will get your pitch bend as you put it without any trouble ,once you own a set of these Sleishman Drums you will never go back to a lugged shell ,i get the best comments on my drum sound from every sound guy nut only since i got my Sleishmans :-)

@XDrummerSteve All traditional mounting system dampen the drum shell to a degree. Free floating system like this just free it. Pearl free floating snare employs same principle. ODCP bass durm has NO tom mounting plate because it uses same principle as well. These drums just happen to employ the principle to the whole drum set. Pearl durm has rim mounting, so is RIMS system and many other Companies. My take is why don't they do it in a studio setting so they can control the recording better?
