The source: right wing white christians, alot of racism and intolerance comes from that comm. and people no it and that's why they can't get away with it. You have to look where this stuff is coming from and if it is not a very friendly place that's when this stuff can offend people. I'm not the authority on racism. I haven't lived through that and I don't pretend to be. And I'm not one of those black people that "let['s] racism be attributed to anything [I} disagree with." I'm not that shallow.
Absolutely not. Some of my people do throw the term racists around alot and use it when they can't have their way and I absolutelty disagree with that. It undermines what my people have actually gone throw and it cheapens it. The raisins I have no idea what your talking about. I'm not talking about that. You're right the intent of these people is my opinion but it is a very good opinion.
In your opinion, you define their intent. Fine - that is your opinion. In my opinion, they were just trying to call attention to obama's waffling on the issues. I think you, like so many, let racism be attributed to anything that blacks disagree with, whether it is true or not. But it doesn't matter being black makes one an expert in all things racist. So, if a black person says the Kelloggs singing raisins are racist - ding! Yank'em from the box! They are offensive! SAD! Where does it end?
The intent was to offend people not to make them laugh, maybe make white racists laugh. The caricature of Obama alone is not racists. Aunt Jemima represents a Mammy; a slave woman who was submissive to white people and looked after their children. Comparing Obama to this woman is saying that he should no his place. And look at the source: right-wing white christians. These people are smart enough to know they can't make these jokes without there being some fallout They knew what they were doin
What was wrong with Aunt Jemima. Uncle Ben and the Cream of Wheat chef? Why are those images considered racist? Who declared them as such? I have not seen the back of the box. My video response only deals with the fact that a silly caricature of Obama is being unfairly elevated to the level of racism when it is no different than any other political satire...
If your extremely funny maybe you can get away with being racists. It happens quite frequently. But this box of waffles doesn't even begin to make me laugh. And I laugh at any damn thing.
Putting Obama on box of waffles and comparing him to the likes of Aunt Jemimama Uncle Ben and the cream of wheat man is racists and have you looked at the back of the box? If I were muslim I would be offended.
"Plenty" of white people are offended of being compared to vanilla.
How does any of that make Elon James White a racist?
