F-18 Low Approach

DEPOT is the callsign for aircraft coming outta NAS North Island, which is where the Navy/Marines send their jets to be refurbished, painted etc. That will explain the lack of markings. If Its headed up to Fallon, my guess would be its a future NSAWC bird.

It's an FA-18C (you can see the RWR blisters on the spine behind the canopy), and probably USMC, although it could be navy. A number of American hornets have the false canopy. Canadians only fly FA-18As.

Is it possible that is a CF-18 or CF-188 if you prefer?

It's difficult to see the numbering on the tail, or any roundels, but that false cockpit painted on the underside, is standard on all Canadian Hornets.

I was under the impression that Americans didn't paint them that way.
