This version with Green Day and U2 is actually a cover of the song called "The Saints are Coming" by The Skids in 1978. U2 and Green Day did this collaboration together after Katrina hit. It wasn't written after Katrina, just revived after it.

Yea, too bad this isn't actually what happened.
Our government decided instead to wait for days to even acknowledge the devastation. Then they decided since people were getting desperate due to their inaction.. it would be a great idea to waste time and energy confiscating our guns.
