The lyrics of this song were written by the Israeli president and the Noble Peace Prize winner Shimon Peres. Mr. Peres has written many, many pieces of poetry but Ray of Hope was written specifically for Songweavers.
One of the board members of Songweavers is a friend of Shimon Peres. When he found out that they were opening up the site and what Songweavers stands for he realized that it would be wonderful to have his dream fulfill. He is a visionary and felt what better way to demonstrate unity and peace if not through music. So he donated the lyrics to Songweavers in dedication of Peace.
