Finally, a full days fishing was arranged with the Four Muskateers heading out to Blythe Waters in Knowle. On arrival my usual Chub swim was already taken much to my dissapointment. 2 Carp rods each were put out while I also floatfished up in the water bagging a nice string of roach and some sizable Roach/Brean Hybrids but no Chub on this occasion as they tend to be caught from just one peg on the lake. This place continues to be a Bogey water for me with no runs to date on conventional Carp tackle as yet! My venue best is still a 10lb 8oz Mirror caught 12 years ago off the surface!! Sam lost a big Common fishing right in the middle of the marginal reedbeds where the fish seem to hide during the day, as did Jord right at the end of the day. Pete had this fish, after taking on board a tip from Gail-to flick one rod out underarm and fish corn on the hook and bang out half a tin for feed. He was soon in with this cracking fish, his PB Ghostie and 2nd biggest Carp! Well done Pete!
hi just wundering if they have still got them stupid float things in the middle to stop you casting into the middle because of the electric pilons lol nice ghost by the way.

Hello mate sorry for the late reply! The home pool at Blythe is a real challenging water, you are fisheing for just one or two runs really with the fish averaging 16-20lb. The place has a lot of pressure so the usual carp tactics are pretty much useless there now. Best attack is to pick a peg by the reeds, feed up right next to them and fish beefed up float tackle with simple sweetcorn, bread or meat on. Boilies are pretty much useless there now as the fish have seen it all before and wised up!
