This piece touched me at the very first moment I listened it. Do anybody knows where can I buy the score? Thanks!

Silent Songs is the most beautiful song cycle of the 20th century! And there are still much more beautiful songs than this one, for example "la belle dame sans merci".

Wow... I'm touched.

@sweetnessglyc Silvestrov is a Ukrainian composer noted for his sublime melodic inventions and contrast in dynamic/tension. Note the comment posted above regarding this particular work. It is available on the ECM label. Also, I HIGHLY recommend his opus entitled "Sacred Songs" for mixed choir; this work has also been recorded, magnificently, on ECM by Kiev Chamber Choir. It is some of the most celestial, alluring music I have ever heard. Keep listening!

I'm not familiar with Silvestrov's music. Are the silent songs like a cycle of songs or is it just this one? When did he write this? I'm really interested: this music is haunting!

Heavenly. And so, good choice of visuals. Thankyou.

Do you have a translation for this song?
Silvestrov put out the Silent songs release in 1974. I'm just now learning how to play the piano, so I'll attempt to describe the work with music terminology. He keeps the entire album away from a purely forte sound, it only rises to mezzo forte at select intervals and mostly a pianissimo expression. When you mentioned the haunting quality, that effect comes from the tone of poets like Shelley, Puskin, and Mandelstam who inspired the 24 song cycle. Intriguing work that demands repeat listening.
