  • The thing that also should be pointed out is that while a $6,000 device + supplies might seem like a hefty up-front cost to an insurance company, the long-term cost benefits are far greater. An insurance company would pay a lot more for treating diabetes-related complications (such as amputation, blindness, or kidney failure), but in our current system, insurance companies bank on not being your provider when those things happen.
