Coronation Anthems and Beethoven's 9th.
Experience these two majestic gems live at the magnificent Cathedral of St. John the Divine.
Join these 25th Anniversary festivities with the American Classical Orchestra, together with
the Choirs of the Cathedral, Trinity Princeton and Trinity New Haven, and 50 dancers from
Purchase Dance Corps at SUNY and Ballet Hispanico School.
The Coronation Anthems are from the Westminster Abbey Coronation of King George II in 1727.
Cynthia Fuller-Kling has created contemporary choreography to enhance this noble music.
This concert is a rare opportunity to hear Beethoven's towering Ninth Symphony performed
by New York's period instrument orchestra with 150 choristers and soloists.

The American Classical Orchestra celebrates classical music performance on authentic
instruments, specializing in repertoire from the 17th to 19th centuries. The Orchestra
works to render more faithfully music of the Baroque, Classical, and early Romantic eras.
Comprised of leading period instrumentalists in the New York metropolitan region, the
Orchestra has achieved significant critical acclaim through its performances and its
professional recordings in New York City and Connecticut.

  • I have always believed that Ludwigs music was never played the way he would play it. This video confirms my feelings. These Guys are just DJ's. Ripping off other peoples music and trying to convince the masses that it is theirs. Always wondered why I didnt have a lot of respect for the, over the years.

  • Very interesting. Somehow I just assumed that the scores of classical music were chiseled in stone. So much for assumptions.
