@mutoneon Superior graphically and soundwise, otherwise Genesis wins gameplay wise. However, after the release of MKII it tore the Genesis port "a new asshole" as Ed Boon said in an EGM video interview back in '93. According to Boon everything transitioned more smoothly with the MKII SNES port. Followed by the then superior SNES ports for MK3 and UMK3. If I recall some of the PSX and Genesis ports of the original MK3 had to be recalled do to glitches, this was something I read years ago.
