A tribute to my favorite of all television couples. I know it's been done to the movies, but I don't acknowledge that said movies exist. (You can't film The Addams Family in color. It's just wrong!) Call me a purist, but I grew up on the show and its innocent quirkiness drew me in. I'm just not fond of the darker, hard-edged new versions.

Gomez and Morticia, the perfect couple. "Tish, you spoke French!"

I do not own The Addams Family, or the song "Masochism Tango". I make no profit from doings this and intend for no copyright infrigement. I own nothing but the complete series on DVD and a copy of the song!

  • See, my preference for the old TV show is not as much due to the writing as due to the absolute perfection of John Astin and Carolyn Jones. I love the comic strip and the movie for their humor, but nothing could ever meet the expectations set by these two fantastic leads.

Carolyn as Morticia Addams was also one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen.

  • @saber1epee0 TRUTH. Greater chemistry was never seen.

  • Lovely video, I simply adore this couple. Though I feel I should say, you call yourself a "purist" for not liking the darkness of the movies. However before there was a tv show there was a comic strip. And it held this same dark grittiness. In fact the only reason the tv show didn't was likely do to censorship at the time simply not allowing it.

  • @bubblegum1366 I am familiar with the comic strip. However, I grew up with the original television series, and my loyalties still lie with it. The strip still had a more quirky feel than the color films, which is why I don't gripe about it--and because it inspired the show--but I didn't, personally, find the same atmosphere between the comic strip and films. But that's just my own opinion.

  • can you please tell me what episode 0:56 is from? i've been trying to figure it out. Great vid, totally appropriate.

  • @ThreeOfHearts1 I think it's "The Addams Family Tree".

  • @MadMadameMe "Call me a purist, but I grew up on the show and its innocent quirkiness drew me in. I'm just not fond of the darker, hard-edged new versions." OMG another purist exists! You took the words right out of my mouth! I was just discussing why I dislike the movies with a friend the other day; the show was THE BEST nothing else matched up to it!

  • This is the best Gomez and Morticia tribute I've seen! Well done.

  • I like the series... I also liked the movies. (Before you claim that I'll accept ANYTHING that has "Addams" on it, I HATED "The NEW Addams Family" and the Addams Family cartoon where they tried to "scare America first" really got on my nerves. (The later cartoon with the uptight couple next door and their kid who enjoyed living next to the Addams's was pretty decent.)

  • With most families on TV in that age, you wondered if the kids came by stork. With Gomez and Mortitica, you're more surprised they only had two! Years of marriage, kids, a large family living withy them, and they're still all over each other like teenagers!

  • The best and original masochistic tango....makes me always come back for more......oh yes....you can untie me now...Happy New Year. Robbie.

  • Truly awesome vid, but... you don't like the movie?! D:

  • @saber1epee0 I watched the re-runs as a kid, I wanted to grow up and be as beauitful as Morticia Adams. And have a husband, who adored me like Gomez.

  • Perfect!

  • @luigiperso How is it a pathology?

  • @dixophilia It's from "Wednesday Leaves Home".

  • such a great song

I love you more today :d
