This is my video postcard for Mato Tipila or "Bear Lodge", known today as "Devil's Tower." In NE Wyoming, this ancient volcanic neck is made of polygonal basalt, and full of Native stories easily found on the internet. As is the case with all my postcards, I take all the pictures, play/record all the music, and do so with flutes that I've actually made. Fascinating geology, nice video thanks

Ironic, isn't it, that a Republican blocked the native's request for re-naming of this monument - keeping the mistaken white man's name of Devils Tower instead of the much older name of Bear Lodge - because she felt it would harm tourism?!
