You know, I live in Schuylkill County but have never been to the Pioneer Tunnel... I see enough coal mines without an official tour.

As I understand it they relaid track on some original railroad roadbed. But what railroad was it and how much roadbed is left that hasn't been relaid?

@WhyAyeMann Yes she does - cleanest coal-fired steam locomotive I've ever seen. You get to watch them shovel a load in when they start out as part of the tour.

in the uk we used to have a smaller engine with no roof for the cab which went down the copper mines to gather up all resources

How long is their museums railroad track goes?

It's not long at all, only about 3/4 of a mile... They make it very interesting, though, and the scenery in certain spots is truly remarkable, with mountain views and overlooks, etc... It's worth your trip.
