Blind people go to movies and watch TV because the audio is often entertaining all by itself. However, it would be more entertaining if purely visual things were described in words, so that they can get a more complete sense of what is going on in the movie or TV show.

  • The blind tv thing makes no sense. Why would a blind person watch tv?

  • hello i I am happy obama did a good job4disabilitys!

  • Like, very nice, but is this just another unfunded government mandate? Although politicians & bureaucrats seemingly just will these developments into existence, someone must engineer & manufacture the stuff, and someone must pay for it. So, is the technology here now, and who is going to pay for it? Nothing is free. Good luck, babes!

  • Let's all stand up for those who take a physical and mental challenges and push onward. What an awesome accomplishment!!

  • Praise to congress Mackey awesome!!!

  • this is awesome

  • Wow that's great!!!

  • Congress passes bill to make Internet, smartphones accessible for blind and/or deaf users! Goes to President for final signature. Thank you members of Coalition of Organizations for Accessible Technology (COAT) and all supporters. Equal access for all!

  • WELL DONE CONGRESSMAN MARKEY AND ALL WHO WORKED ON THIS because you understand equal rights, and how captions include millions of us, not only people who are deaf who use sign language, but also many millions more who do not use signs and use captioning/subtitles. We need captions universally for all with hearing, learning, listening, speech and language differences. Inclusion means participation and more contributions from all.

CCACaptioning is on the web, more to do, join us.
