Many have thrown a chair or two in their day! Youth does so seek to be free.... but Schubert was in an advanced state of illness by this period of life. He struggled and knew great sorrow, yet managed to continue composing. He carried on, but understood that his time would be brief. Hold fast and be strong!

Bostridge is far too good at portraying contempt. One worries where he got so much practice.

wonderful voice, excellent german, but the scenic elements I would not need



great cycle, beautiful voice, beautiful man, great playing by julius drake.
