  • The best - great idea.

  • I think the point of the video is Fischer's

arrogance,if he wasn't so arrogant and a strong-believer to himself he certainly wouldn't have done all he did, there's another vid somewhr in youtub where he says he considered himself a world champion 10 years before he won the world championship and that the russians stole him

    his championship!!!

what we have to learn from Fischer is not his chess games or his stupid racist beliefs,

but that when you want to achieve sth you have to devote your life

  • @TomBarristerA Your argument would be a lot more powerfull if it were not for the fact that Kasparov would also later disagree with FIDE and create a new world chess organization as a result. Interestingly, you would be hard pressed to find a single person to argue that Kasparov forfeited his world chess championship title when he refused to defend the FIDE title.

  • @dartplayer170 Fischer made 179 (yes, One-Hundred-Seventy-Nine demands of the FIDE for the Karpov match. The FIDE granted 178 of them. They would not grant the stipulation that at a 9-9, score, the champion retains the title. Fischer refused to play. The FIDE stripped him of the title. That's the same thing as forfeiting it.

Yes, Fischer was the best chess player in the world at that time. That didn't give him the right to be a prima donna.

  • @manenir What?? Do you know anything at ALL?

    1. Arrogance = not knowing your place, overestimating your own ability. Fischer always stated nothing but the truth about his abilities.

    2. What you have to learn from Fischer is that devotion to one thing only leads to MISERY. That was the whole point of Fischers life and his downfall, he has stated this himself too.

Unbelievable, the things you say... Pure nonsense.

  • @vibovitold Actually, he did not forfeit the title. To be exact he disagreed with the conditions of FIDE for the contest and would not conceid to FIDE's rules. His statement that he was the best in the world is undisputably correct. Arrogant maybe but correct.

  • manenir you've got it!

  • agree

  • More than a genius, a God.
