Here's a riddle from Bolivia for you: Why did the Zebra cross the road? ...not sure? Well, have a look at this.
Around 70 young people are dressing up as Zebras to help people cross the road the Bolivian capital of La Paz. It's a city famous for dangerous bottlenecks on narrow streets that were designed by 16th century Spanish conquistadors.
Many of the zebras are young people who are recovering drug addicts and alcoholics.
It's a way for them to get their lives back on track and to give something back to society.
The scheme is run through the La Paz municipal office.
[Katia Zambrana, Zebra Program Director] (Spanish):
"They are serious, and they're special. They are kids who come from foundations of very serious problems. Sometimes it's single mothers, kids who don't study who have left their homes, and they're kids that want to refocus on a very different life. The project has the aim of fulfilling a social objective: helping these kids, and helping the city with the problem in educating about street traffic."
The city's residents are happy to have them on the streets.
[Martha Valeriana, Visually Impaired Woman] (Spanish):
"Good boys they are. I hope they continue their work. The project should be spread everywhere."
The scheme is expected to be put in place in other Bolivian cities. Sucre [pronounced: SU-cruh] is the next one on the list.
