This video takes you through the steps to study the first chapter of a biology textbook. The method can be applied to other classes. The steps are to get an overview of the material by writing bold words, headings, and other things in the text that are emphasized. Fill in the details by connecting the key materials you identified in the overview with enough information that you understand those ideas. Compress the information (write it in fewer words, organize it, and make connections between the concepts). The goal is to get 1 to 3 pages per chapter as a summary.
