Hey all, in this review (part 2 0f 2) I'll show you the swedish fallkniven f1 survival knife, cut up some wood with it and show you the sharpness. Check out the table of contents below to see what is in this vid. I'll share my experience on it and try to give an honest opinion: an awesome knife for bushcraft and I love the handling and the beauty of it. Fallkniven is a great company with some nice people behind it. This knife is a serious beauty. I'll throw in a little comparison with the rc-3 by the company formerly known as rat cutlery (esee) just for the kicks. I highly recommend this knife!

part 1:
- fallkniven f1 swedish survival knife intro
- history of the knife
- about the company www.fallkniven.com
- comparison to the rat cutlery (esee) rc-3 side to side
- some specifications
- some beauty shots in the light
- closer look at the blade
- about that great handle
- the steel, laminated vg-10
- the zytel sheath
- variations on the f1 theme

part 2:
- prices (about 110 euro and 110 dollars)
- paper cut
- cutting test on wood (600% speed)
- cutting characteristics
- friction on the hand
- rat cutlery izula cutting
- sharpness after cutting the wood, paper test (great!)
- striking a firesteel
- f1 and rc-3 use marks
- other reviews
- me drooling over it.

see you later

  • i got this knife two days ago and made a bow and some arrows with it i was very careful not to chip it but i looked and it has micro chips near the tip the day i got it. i also sliced me finger with it down to the bone the day i got it

  • @joeclapper ouch, that must have hurt. It's sharp isn't it :) The micro chips can easily be sharpened out. You'll get to the better metal then and probably won't have any issues then with the chipping. It has to do with the heat treat on the very edge where the metal is very thin, that might be a little bit too much, making the steel brittle. the steel just slightly away from the edge is better.

  • I have the same knife.. good stuff...... regards stealthy uk

  • @vontheviking thanks, it's good stuff for sure :)

  • @joeclapper also for a micro sharp edge use a leather strop with a compound. it has been proven to polish and sharpen the blade to a micro scopical sharp non raged edge.
