  • he is a very gud tabla player but he has either been sped up or the camera is crap!

  • There is no speeding up of this video. You need to listen to his solo's where he actually plays faster!

  • Gameover, Indian classical music is not a grand prix circuit that the artistes will have to be rated. By making these childish remarks, you are insulting a Gramdmaster's lifelong riyaz, dedication and his mastery over the subject.

I suggest you listen and study Lucknow kaydas, tirkit and dene ghene relas and gats played by him besides dhir dhir.

  • Sheer Sweetness of Dhere Dhere....incredible hand control, and breath taking balance between two hands...Swapan Da is a genius...I often dream about a Ultimate Tabla Jugalbandi with Zakir Hussani of Punjab Gharana Swapan Chauduri of Lucknow Gharana Kumar Bose of Benaras Gharana and Anindo Chatterjee of Farukabad Gharana perfoming togather on a stage... Can any one please please....please make it possible on earth ?? I can go anywhere for such a heavenly program...

  • ise kehte hain..............QAATIL TABLA

  • great tabla player

  • the best part is when his hand flies out of the tabla

  • incredible, i can never get enough of swapanda's dhire dhire, AMAZING-SWAPAN CHAUDHURI- WHERE AMAZING HAPPENS..........................

  • @coveringeternity : I have heard that there was a program in Amravati, Maharashtra, where Swapan Ji,with his exceptional dhere-dhere, over shadowed Zakir ji. And Zakir ji, appreciated and acclaimed his perfection of dhere-dhere. There is an audio also of that program.

  • He's considered the master of Dhiri dhiri, now I know why! Those subtle notes... I can't even come close to that level of talent.

  • They wont all play together like that. Too much ego and politics also.

Swapan and Zakir have played together. I have heard it somewhere. You might want to check James Kippen website

  • his son Nilan is great at tabla and kit as well :)

  • this is just ridiculous. i want to go to the ali akbar school and learn from him.
