The following eight guiding principles underlie our call to action. In order to achieve full civil rights now, we avow:

1.Full civil rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals must be enacted now. Delay and excuses are no longer acceptable.

2.We will not leave any part of our community behind.

3.Separate is never equal.

4.Religious beliefs are not a basis upon which to affirm or deny civil rights.

5.The establishment and guardianship of full civil rights is a non-partisan issue.

6.Individual involvement and grassroots action are paramount to success and must be encouraged.

7.Success is measured by the civil rights we all achieve, not by words, access or money raised.

8.Those who seek our support are expected to commit to these principles.

FULL CIVIL RIGHTS GOALS

Being united by common principles and engaging in united action, we will achieve the following goals:

1.DIGNITY AND EQUALITY. Every lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender person has inherent dignity and worth, and has the right to live free of discrimination and harassment.

2.FAMILY. Every LGBT person has the right to a family without legal barriers to immigration, civil marriage or raising children.

3.ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY. Every LGBT person has the right to economic opportunity free from discrimination in employment, public housing, accommodation, public facilities, credit, and federally funded programs and activities.

4.EDUCATION. Every LGBT child and youth has the right to an education that is affirming, inclusive and free from bullying.

5.NATIONAL SECURITY. Every LGBT person should have the opportunity to serve our country openly and equally in our military and foreign service.

6.CRIME. Every LGBT person should enjoy life protected against bias crimes.

7.HEALTH CARE. Every person should have access to affordable, high quality, and culturally competent health care without discrimination.

CALL TO ACTION

1.We demand that government officials act now to achieve full civil rights without delay.

2.Our organizations and individuals need to develop a collaborative and revolutionary new organizing model that mobilizes millions of supporters through emerging web and phone technologies.

3.All LGBT individuals must accept personal responsibility to do everything within their power for equality and should get involved in the movement by volunteering, giving and being out.

4.We will hold elected officials and our organizations accountable for being transparent and achieving full civil rights by active participation when possible and active opposition when necessary.

5.Our allies need to be proactive in public support for full civil rights.

6.Every government measure that quantifies the US citizenry must permit LGBT individuals to self-identify and be counted in every way citizens are counted.

7.We demand that the media present LGBT lives in fair, accurate and objective ways that neither include nor give credence to unsubstantiated, discriminatory claims and opinions.

  • @briddle2 It's not necessarily true that one is right and one is wrong, not at all. In fact NOBODY has all the answers.

  • @briddle2 I have read the BIble, but "believe in" as in every word as literal truth? Of course not. Given the amount we KNOW not to be true (the age of the earth, the Genesis story, sun revolving around the aerth, ect) that would be foolish.

Christ said the only law God has for us is to treat others with love. The fire and brimstrone "Believe what I do in the same way I do or you're in trouble" stuff, this "warning", isn't loving.

  • @PrisonerNumber9653 But, to allow a sincere person to continue in their problem without warning, is not respectful. I don't fear what they do to me ultimately, although I desire to do the Lords will in freedom, but I fear (so called) what will happen to them as they (created in Gods image) turn to the opposite of God's answer for their sin, which is faith in Jesus, God's only begotten Son sent to earth to die for our (who believe) sins. Read and believe the Bible. Be free and at peace.

  • @PrisonerNumber9653 The difference between being right and wrong are at issue here. If one holds a position that is opposite to another's position, then one is necessarily wrong and one is right. It is also important to care about the other persons position because it is sincere to them. I believe I have solid foundation for my position but I am not angry or hateful toward those who oppose my position. Notice I don't say "who oppose me". In this way I show respect but remain unchanged. But

  • @briddle2 fortunately, she's spirited AND correct, although we are "correct" when our choice is to treat others the way we'd want to be treated. No, someone does NOT have to be wrong for someone to be right, we can all show each other respect, can all have our rights realized, a world like that absolutely is possible, there's no need for bigotry, it exists because of fear and want, and when those are removed our problems can be solved. I don't believe suffering is necessary or inevitable

  • @PrisonerNumber9653 Not to demean her strong spirit, but it's just that being sincere is not important. Many people are sincere and sincerely wrong. Wrong as is possible and will be hurt by the terrible choice they make. You must agree that someone must be wrong in order for someone to be right and the consequences are so giant and so awful that to be on the wrong side of this is a great tragedy. Right? So, we must be sincere and passionate but also more importantly, correct.

  • @PrisonerNumber9653 As I said, I know what the Bible says about lgbt and may I add pedo, beastiallity, and all the other proclivities and perversions there may be. Hell is a place to avoid and I do fear for those who take it lightly. Please let my prayer be answered that all who read this will turn quickly away from sin and repent. Our own shameful desires will be our doom. But please please know that Jesus forgives and let Him heal your soul. He will, just trust Him.

  • @briddle2 censorship is the last word on any subject for those who are afraid of dissent. I appreciate that because fear is what is at the root of the whole Dallas agenda. But as I said, I know what the Bible says about lgbt and may I add pedo, beastiallity, and all the other proclivities and perversions there may be. Hell is a place to avoid and I do fear for those who take it lightly. Please let my prayer be answered that all who read this will turn quickly away from sin and repent.

  • @briddle2 Pure blasphemy. If you're "scared" of God, then you're not getting it right. The Bible says scary things, written by PEOPLE, not God. What Jesus says isn't scary at all. God's love and forgiveness KILLED fear.

  • @kingdaddie That's sick BS. She's not remotely mean or hateful, she's the victim of meanness and hate, and I'm sorry, but you bigots want gays to cower and quiver and not fight back. Pam has GUTS, and is fighting back, and it's about damn time!!
