Of course there's no mics. This was a variety show and she taped all her parts. Just like there isn't really two Karen Carpenter's in the video. You're missing the point! Her first love was drums. She was an accomplished jazz drummer/percussionist! Read the book'"Little girl blue." We lost an amazing talent too soon! She barely scratched the surface of what she could do!!!

Although Hal Blaine, the top session drummer of the day, did all of the Carpenter's studio tracks, Karen was sorely underestimated behind the drums. Her technique was incredible, easily outdistancing her male counterparts.  She was an amazing musician, all around. R.I.P.
