Just a quick video showing the awesome secondary burn on my NC13 when using good dry firewood with a moisture content under 25%. Stove top temp is 650f and stack probe 475f. Hardwood such as Oak need 2+ years of seasoning and that's cut, split and stacked. Most if not all firewood sellers do not sell truly seasoned firewood you should at a minimum buy one year before you need to burn it. With quality firewood I only need to clean the glass once a year when I sweep the chimney if you get black glass you better check the chimney more often.
