Coach has his wrestler take a dive in team sectionals to win the meet. His wrestler was hurt due to a full nelson, or was he?

  • Just to update PORTA wrestled the same team for the state championship this year and crushed them. seeing all the coaches and refs come up and congradulate PORTA coaches for their ethics and sportsmanship make up for a piece of $hit coach that Gibson City have

  • what kind of terrible wrestler is on a team-sectionals team and doesnt know not to put a full nelson in. moron

  • "pressure" has nothing to do with illegal hold. it's illegal by application.

  • forst full nelson call - marginal at best. Second one legit.

Don't see how someone can take injury default due to illegal hold after standing around with no apparent injury. Oh well, it's a letigious society we're in.

  • a full nelson is illegal in any application pressure or none but I still see no injury. Very unethical for the coach to do this.

  • The first was quick not the second. When would you have stoped it? After his neck was really hurt?

  • dude your fucking retarded, the match was over in 45 sec.

  • To be fair, the PORTA wrestler should've not put his team in that position by attempting an obviously illegal move. But it was a mistake, probably unintentional. The coach's conscious choice to take advantage of the situation was wrong, but it becomes a bigger ethical dilemma when you consider how the real world works. Business leaders and lawyers wouldn't hesitate to do the same and capitalize on a competitor's mistake (and get rewarded). The true real world lesson goes to the PORTA wrestler.

  • the match was over in the first period are you sure you were there ?

  • Two very Quick Calls on the full nelsons. It may have been the safe call to make because it protected the wrestler and prevented any chance of injury. But then after the kid was ready to restart the coach stopped the match, claimed his wrestler was injured and won by default. Look at the scoreboard the match was 44 sec long
