Here is a more historically correct version: Blacks sold members of opposing tribes to whites who required slaves. Prior to the white man coming to Africa these opposing tribe members were murdered wholesale, sometimes they became slaves to blacks even. Whole tribes decimated by the victorious tribe. When the white man came to Africa, the victorious tribes found a way to gain out of those they would have slaughtered/raped anyway.
