My dad built this train about 40 years ago (though he just rebuilt it, and the stock car is brand new). The track for its current location (around our house in Casper, WY), was put in close to 30 years ago. I've since moved, but he just sent me some footage of he and my brother running it again, so I edited a couple minutes of it together. This is the real thing; it runs on coal and water.

I definitely recommend the high quality version of the video.

  • Any chance of more footage of this very awesome setup? Would love to see more of it! These are skills I wish I had, as that locomotive looks very scale, as well as the cars!

  • @maz323se He's rebuilt it in recent years, so it looks even better now. I'm planning on getting some better footage if I ever go back to visit home.

  • have you suggested doing a business with people coming to ride for $10 adult and children under 5 are free but the children above that will be $5

  • @JasonsStories He did rides every Sunday morning when I was growing up. All free. It was a bit of a town event every week.

  • this is awesome. what this built from a kit or from scratch?

  • All from scratch.

  • that's awesome! If I had something like that around my house, people would call the cops because of the noise. has that ever happened to you?

  • That was just too cool even down to putting water in it.The baggage car was a sharp looking car.I hope you show it again after your repairs.thanks for shareing

  • Good thing you don't run that in New Jersey. The dumb state would make you get a boilers license and then you would have the steam loco boiler certified every 2 years. NJ, the not so fun state.

  • what's the baggige car for?

  • What fun, and such a great whistle. To bad it doesn't go all the way down the block!

  • Very realistic sounding whistle. Nice train.

  • My turn.

  • Awsome stuff, now the greatest part of the train beside the steam locomotive, is the dog in the cattle car!
