I once found a shark washed up on the beach so I ran home and got a steak knife to cut out the jaws. I spent an hour hacking away before I gave up. Shark cartilage is tough!

@TheodoreJudah You don't want to cut through the cartilage, just around it. The few jaws I have removed did not take too long to get from the shark, but took forever to clean all the meat from the jaw and prep it at home. Then there was the set my black lab ate...I was a little upset.

@aharmer1 I had a reeking dolphin skull drying on my deck before the neighbourhood dogs jumped over the gate as a pack and stole it.

@AntiIgnorantDimwit There are few things that stink as much as dead marine mammals. I was close to a curing sperm whale skull at the Natural History Museum in Santa Barbara, and the smell is about all I recall of the day. I think burying it or putting it on the roof would work pretty well.
