IALD ENLIGHTEN AMERICAS 2011 :
A CELEBRATION OF URBAN LIGHT
22 - 24 SEPTEMBER 2011
ASTOR CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL
NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA USA
This year, IALD Enlighten Americas will provide a forum for exploring the promise and possibilities for light in the public realm at the start of the 21st century. This domain is pressured by energy concerns, new and aggressive technologies, budgetary austerity, and often official indifference to quality. Rarely explored in North America, this area offers tremendous opportunities for lighting designers to make a significant impact in their communities and enhance their business.
The IALD Enlighten Americas Conference will answer the following questions :
• What is the value of urban lighting?
• Can new energy codes be coupled with the aesthetics of good design?
• Is it possible to use the power of light to rebuild an urban environment?
• Where does architectural lighting design fit into modern trends of urban development?
IALD Enlighten 2011 will continue the tradition of following three concurrent learning tracks: Design, Current Issues, and Business + Professional Development.
