In the US and in Australia the majority of cyclists are male, but over 50% of the population is female. I dont know how women see cycling because im male, but I know its something that we should try to find out, what stops/ encourages women to bike. Countries were a more even balance also have more cyclists. We need to ask women, what would get them to consider biking, and what stops them?

More than once I have had passengers of passing cars try to pull my handlebars out my hands as they passed me. They are out to get you sometimes. Makes me want to carry a pistol but then you can't go anywhere legally with a gun in your pocket.

I started riding again 6 years ago then stopped when the hill I live on nearly killed me. Then 4 months ago I bought this cool electric motor assist kit and now I ride like crazy. My strength is improving so greatly that I only use the motor on the worst of hills nowadays.

watching episodes like this one when i'm realizing my goal for the year of riding bicycles to work and moving to a city.
makes me feel glad i canceled the TV for youtube.
the end goal for the year is to SELL the CAR.

Electra makes a bunch of cruisers. They are nice because they are inches closer to the ground and you just stay sitting, drop your foot and it is on the ground. Also suspended front and seat make a huge different in comfort if you aren't either young or in great shape! Lastly, rear view mirrors!! They are like another set of reflectors plus you can see if someone is trying to pass you etc without turning your head...

Doesn't it make you proud to not be threatening people's lives every day with your insufficient intelligence by being in a 3000 pound speeding object? Feels like I made a smart decision, like I thought for myself for once.
at 2:20 where the video talks about all the benefits and great things of bycling instead of driving a car. i was happy to hear the good things of biking but i saw the image of a fat bear chasing me :( between the great things. just thought it was funny haha

At least where we live, the real (black) bears run the other way if s/he heard or saw a bicycle or someone walking or even sitting. Humans seem to be a bother not worth tangling with.

Since the majority of us are from cities, we're losing such knowledge...as well as losing the natural world and its creatures, so quickly.
