the only bad thing about being infantry is having to clean your musket when you get home after 20years doing this is still a pain

i always try to keep a historical context to such questions which means that an answer can't really be given. it always comes down to what if? we must not apply todays politics to back then. although i believe that i would have sided with my state, with my family etc. james

we aim high for safety. i aim high and sometimes away. how high we elevate depends on how close we are to the enemy. we fire real guns so we must use caution. the muzzle blast is dangerous at close range. each guy may elevate more or less then the other guy. i am never really aiming at any one. but i don't want to appear that i am shooting into the sky either. but if billy is right in front of me i will discharge my weapon into the sky where it can't hurt any one.pvt. james

@TheMoonman666 they are blanks. a paper cartridge with 60-90 grains of re-enactor black powder. only the powder is poured down the muzzle not the paper. james
