R.I.P Taylor Bradford (Balloon Release)

10/2/07 - University of Memphis football player, Taylor Bradford, was shot and killed on his way out of his campus apartment (9/30/07). During the Memphis vs. Marshall game, a balloon release was done in his memory. Rest in peace, Taylor Bradford #93.

The school balloon release reflects its ignorance and apathy toward the environment, and tarnishes its reputation, bringing SHAME on its student body and faculty. The person's memory should not be dishonored by an environmentally offensive action. Non-profit cleanup crews have to go clean up the mess - now the school should go find every balloon and pick them up! and donate to the non-profit cleanup crews that bear those costs.

REALLY SORRY for the loss of this player -but releasing balloons is an act of AIRBORNE LITTER. There are other ways to honor the memory of a precious soul without tarnishing the memory by creating environmentally destructive balloon releases! Balloons fall back to the earth and are consumed by seabirds, turtles, even whales, and they are killed. Latex balloons take 6 mos. to 4 YRS to degrade - plenty of time to kill marine life. DON't DO THIS AGAIN EVER!

First time hearing about this wgen I watch and old episode of 48 hrs...that was really messed up come to find out the dude that he beat up was the mastermind behind the the whole robbery...they all got caught and the guy that was behind it got life n prison. Sad to take another persons life.
