"Soon It's Gonna Rain" written by Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones , for the off Broadway musical The Fantasticks , was recorded in January 1963 by Barbra Streisand for her debut album released on February 25, 1963, on Columbia Records. The arrangement was by Peter Matz. The Barbra Streisand Album, which reached #8 on the Billboard Pop Albums Chart, is available on CD on the Sony label. Her wonderful ability as an actress shows through in this song.

I love Barbra Streisand and I love this song. But this combination does not work. I't's a simple song- thats part of it beauty. This arrangement kills it. Its the arrangement not the singer. If she had done it in the simple way it was written she would shone. This is just too much.
