I have to admit I find it rather unpalatable, with a piano style almost entirely derivative of Brahms 2nd concerto, only pushing it too far, as it does for the musical language, pushing the boundaries of late romanticism until it ceases to be meaningful. Plus Gerhard Oppitz's sound is curiously harsh. But nevertheless, thanks again, Mr Bonnet, to contributing so much in the widening of my musical horizons.

His orchestral works are very similar to his organ works! Full of energy but these are much easier to play!

Thank you so much!!!

Magnificent upload! One of the truly difficult pianoconcertos. Technically as well as mentally.

I suggest you have a look at the IMSLP site although this library is unfortunately not exhaustive.

who is playing?

Gerhard Oppitz is playing with the Bamberger Symphoniker. Horst Stein is conducting. This is an "old" CD that I bought in 1998 in Germany. I fear that it is no longer available.
