Super Mario Galaxy 2 - 57.05 Fluzzard Wild Glide

The bird says I finish too quickly. Straight forward race: just do nothing for most of it, except for the 3 turns that actually matter, where you have to do something (and you have to do it well!). I don't think it matters how you space the boosts so long as you spend the same amount of total time in boost mode. This means variations are possible that will result in an identical score.
The run killer is the tunnel at 24s, because the rapids after it are very close to you and yet you want to be boosting there (you should sustain that boost until the very end, so it's important to start it asap).

Edit: finally got a 56.96.

Ugh, sorry pack. Youtube does very bad things in ff2 and I deleted the wrong box.

No adjustments to sub. I keep a few visual checkpoints so I know when to drown the bird. Important ones:

1. corner after tunnel, 27.8-27.9s on clock (else retry).

2. enter big tunnel (stay low) at 38.8

3. the 2 cliffs at the end must disappear before clock ticks 50.

Ideally you want to be boosting over the small cascades (~26s) instead of dipping your toes in. That's a timesaver. I didn't do that here!

@packattack04082 is there a trick to <1:24.9 star time? With a 57.1 race I get that, but the records are half a second faster. Can I skip text?

As far as I know you can't skip the text sections here. Are you holding in A to make the text go faster? In order to get a good time you need to be very quick in the text and selection screens (make the selection as soon as possible and hit A nearly as soon as possible). For me a good run could vary anywhere between 2:24.90-2:24.30 I suppose, depending on how quickly I hit A in the text as well as how quickly you long jump into the star.
