  • lol why are you alway in ur car

  • My car is comfortable. It's quiet. There is no wind, or rain, or sun. The camera is in a good position to record. But mainly, I have a little time to talk to you while I am waiting for my wife to return from shopping.

  • you should move to san jose, there a lot of vietnamese people live there

  • Really good bud. I looked on some other learn viet videos, but I find your linguistic back ground gives you the edge in explainations. This is my first night of viewing and I will go through them all again and again. Luckily my wife is Viet - from the deep south Phu Quoc(island) - so she does a good job of bastardising my accent, but without your insights I would still be flailing. Strangely the first words I ever learnt were the colors (perhaps it because she's an artist). I hope you keep going

  • Vietnamese are very difficult language to learn, just a word that has Many meanings, with the pronunciation is discorrect caused much misunderstanding, a word pronounced wrong will lead to a variety of means,

-eg ban = ban, bạn= friend, bán = sale,bàn= desk or Discussion.

-look the same but their meaning is not directly related to each other

  • Actually, dau nga has no stops :) But whatever helps you pronounce it close, man.

  • Its not khong dau its dau khong just turn it around overall your pretty good at vietnamese from 1-10 i'd give you a 8

  • Thanks alot for the effort you put in to these videos!!! Really helping me out kick starting my learning!!

  • Thanks for this video! I'm sure I'll watch it many times, so I become familiar with the diacriticle marks, as opposed to the tonal marks. Thanks for explaining the difference; when I first started trying to learn some Vietnamese, I was confused - I was told there were 6 tones, yet there were so many different marks! Took me a while to realize they were diacriticle marks ;-)

Thanks for all your vidoes on this! I'm slowly watching them all.

  • What book are you looking at? Is it a course in Vietnamese?
