Sometimes women in the earlier stages of menopause can experience a surge in fertility. It's sometimes referred to as a "change of life" pregnancy. Alexis even uses that term when she learns of Sable's pregnancy in the series finale.

@phoenix3370 Well, Beachum was playing the role of Monica's mother. Monica (who had long finished college, law school & was seasoned enough in business to advise Sable), had to be at least in her 30s. Not many women, no matter how rich & beautiful, get pregnant at Sable's age here. To me, Beachum looks much older than 42 here. I just found the Sable character to be simply too much - over-acting, ridulously snooty accent & belief that she was so much better in looks/wealth. Tiring.

@redletter2008 Tracy Scoogins was 36, 6 years younger than Stephanie Beachum who played Sable in 1989. Bad casting match as mother and daughter, admittedly but 70? seriously? Personally I think Tracy she looked waaay older on B5 than she looks here and that was only 9 years later

Stephanie Beacham was only 42 in this episode. She was surely playing a bit older (to be Monica's mom).. If anything Monica is a bit too old, and looks it, to be Sable's daughter. Funny, but Nolan Miller's fashions & styling made women look older than they were.

That limely trollop avoided having children for 50 years then gets knocked up in an alley? A couch in the lobbey of the Carlton? What a skeeze.
