Well, looking at some of Jason's other vaults on youtube that is just how he takes off. pardon.

I was trying to make the height accessible for "non pole vault" folk. 18.75 feet or 18' 9.25" or something very close. Again most people are used to the metric thing. He actually planted very far out and I was scared a bit when he took off, but he pulled it together for a great jump.
